Teen dies on holiday after being ‘electrocuted during a shower’

A boy has died during a family trip to a Greek holiday island after a suspected electric shock.

The 17-year-old,who has not been named,died on Sunday,August 9,following the incident believed to involve faulty wiring.

He collapsed after an electric shock while having a shower on the island of Kimolos,according to local sources.

The Irish family are said to have links to the island,as the boy’s mum is from there.

A police source told The Irish Sun: ‘He died in the shower as a result of electric shock.

‘There was clearly some sort of wiring fault. It was instant.’

The boy’s body would later be flown to Ireland so his loved ones can pay their respects,it is understood.Local officials described the incident as ‘unprecedented,’ and that it had cast a shadow over the island.A spokesperson for Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs told Metro in a statement: ‘The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is aware of this case and is providing consular assistance.
