OSAKA,Japan,April 14,2025 -- Expo 2025 Osaka officially opened on April 13 at the Expo 2025 park onYumeshima Island in Osaka, and will run until October 13. On the opening day,the China Pavilion, one of the largest self-built foreign pavilions at Expo 2025 Osaka, celebrated its grand opening and drew significant attention . A highlight in the pavilion is the Yundang Lake exhibit, which showcases the remarkable transformation of Yundang Lake and Xiamen's successful practices and achievements in ecological restoration and urban governance. The exhibit vividly presents Xiamen's commitment to the harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
The Yundang Lake exhibit, highlighting the lake's transformation from an aquatic wasteland to an egret sanctuary, stands out as the sole presentation on a single city's urban governance efforts within the China Pavilion. The exhibit showcases how Xiamen's systematic and sustained governance of Yundang Lake embodies China's new development philosophy—innovative, coordinated, green, open, and shared—and exemplifies the "Chinese practice" in building ecological civilization in the new era.
Yundang Lake,a jewel of ecological beauty, embodies Xiamen's dedication to creating a breathtaking ecological garden city where humanity and nature thrive in harmony. The nostalgic glow of "Yundang Fishing Lights" has been replaced by the enchanting "Yundang Nightscape" of today. The exhibit's immersive atmosphere transports visitors to the shores of Yundang Lake, where the captivating charm of Xiamen, the Island of Egrets, awaits.
The Yundang Lake exhibit, along with the other exhibits in the China Pavilion, serves as an important bridge for local exchanges between China and Japan, opening doors for broader cooperation. We are confident that this will attract more people from both countries to foster mutual understanding and strengthen the bonds of friendship between China and Japan.
We sincerely invite everyone to visit the China Pavilion, experience the achievements of China's ecological civilization construction firsthand, and witness the thriving development of friendly exchanges between China and Japan.
